So there I was, freshly laid-off, wondering what to do with the rest of my life, when I received a call from my friend Mark.
"Hey Scott ... myself, Evelyn and the kids are going to Paris. Want to come?"
"Hell, yeah!"
What better way to delay major life decisions than with an impromptu holiday?
So I booked a flight, bought luggage and a laptop, reserved an apartment online, and three weeks later I was off.
The in-flight movie was "The Company Men", about company layoffs. Timely.
